Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the NetEngine desktop application and related services ("NetEngine", "we", "us") collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled. We collect the minimum necessary to operate the download service, deliver updates, and keep the platform secure.

Information we collect

• Installation identifier: a random UUID generated on first launch to identify your installation. It is not derived from your identity.
• Device technical details: device name, operating system and version, CPU architecture, and the NetEngine application version.
• Network information: the IP address used to contact our servers.
• Device pairing code: a short numeric code used to address device-to-device transfers to a specific device.
• Download & transfer activity: records of downloads and transfers (file name, status, byte counts, timestamps) for history and delivery.
• Files you transfer: when you send a file to one of your devices, the file passes through our servers only to deliver it to the receiving device, and is deleted after it is received (and auto-expires within 7 days).

What we do not collect

• We do not read, scan, or upload the contents of your personal files.
• We do not track your web browsing or activity outside the application.
• We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment details through the app.
• We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

How we use information

• Operate download authorization and deliver files securely.
• Provide and verify application updates.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems.
• Provide support when you contact us.

Data retention

We retain installation and download records for as long as your installation remains active and for a reasonable period afterward for security and troubleshooting. You may request deletion of your installation record (see “Your choices”).

Security

All communication with our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Downloads are authorized with signed, expiring links; stored files are not publicly browsable. Access to platform data is restricted and audited.

Your choices

You can uninstall NetEngine at any time. To request deletion of the data associated with your installation identifier, contact privacy@netengine.site.

Children

NetEngine is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
